The hot days of summer, after the often dismally damp spring, bring with them a great many attractive flowers in bright, vibrant shades.  Red, fuchsia pink, yellow, orange, bright blue, and lime blooms can create a rainbow in your very own home, bringing the joy of summer inside to you.  Perhaps in part explaining their popularity is the fact that flowers such as roses, tulips, mums, gerberas, lilies and carnations all come in several bright hues.

With summer flowers, there are infinite possibilities for attractive arrangements.  One could elect a bouquet of a single flower in a single colour, a single flower in a variety of its available shades, a monochromatic bouquet comprised of different types of flowers, or a free-for-all of flora with a multitude of flowers and colours in one bouquet.  For the simple first option, many flowers are brilliant by themselves in a bouquet, such as orange roses, fuchsia roses, yellow gerbera, pink tulips, or yellow lilies.  Sunflowers, a summer flora staple, also work well on their own.  Other stand alone options could be red tulips, yellow roses, pink lilies, and orange, red, or fuchsia gerberas.

Many of the colours within a certain type of flower complement each other very well; for example, orange, yellow, and pink roses together make an ever-popular display, while a bouquet of many different tulips such as yellow, orange, and pink, or those three colours combined with red tulips, would brighten up any room.  Combinations of gerberas could include yellow and orange; red, orange and yellow; yellow, orange and pink; yellow and pink; orange and pink…the list goes on.

If you seek a single colour bouquet with a variety of flowers, it is easy to find many different types of flowers which all have shades of pink, yellow, or orange.  An attractive pink display could include lilies, fuchsia gerberas, pink roses, and tulips, while a yellow bouquet could include gerberas, sunflowers, mums, and roses.  Orange flowers could include lilies, roses, gerbera, mums, and birds of paradise.

Mixing different flowers and colours perhaps yields the greatest variety.  Picture fuchsia gerberas, lime green mums, and blue delphiniums, or orange gerbera with pink roses and yellow mums.  Yellow gerbera with lime green mums and blue delphinium provide a treat from the middle of the rainbow, while red gerberas with orange roses and yellow mums are yet another possibility.  White flowers such as roses or carnations would serve as an attractive addition in any of these displays.  With so many combinations and possibilities, the bright flora of summer can liven up any room in your home.
